How does Toolpool work?
Toolpool acts as a consultant and project manager. Each project is categorised, the necessary work detailed and the appropriate firms contacted and recommended to the client. The firms provide an estimate — and when approved by the client — the work will be carried out following an exact schedule.

I'm new in Austria and would like to renovate my apartment/office.
Our job is to advise you which steps are necessary. We know from experience which steps are required for which projects. Therefore we can guarantee that building costs remain transparent.

I don't speak German and have no experience of working with Austrian craftsmen. Can you still help me?
Yes, we speak fluent 'craftsman German'. Bear in mind that most Austrian craftsmen do not speak English. It's our job to put you in contact with the them and ensure that you understand each other.

I would like to move to Austria for a period of time but have no idea of what the procedures are.
Toolpool also operates as a relocation manager. We can provide you with full details of the current residential situation in Austria.

Does Toolpool work as a general contractor?
No, we advise you on your building project. You commission the craftsmen directly. However we help you to select serious firms, and, by reducing the number of work steps, to save money. We accompany you throughout the whole building project.
 
Why should I contract Toolpool rather than a general contractor?
As a small firm, we are more flexible and can dedicate more time to our clients. We only recommend craftsmen to the client and receive no commission from them. In this way, we remain independent. And, we also charge more reasonable prices than general contractors.

I've had so many terrible experiences with builders and craftsmen!
We will accompany you in all negotiations with craftsmen and building firms and, if you wish, we can be present throughout the building work. We also speak 'building-site German'. Rest assured, we carefully select all the firms that we recommend to clients.

I've got a few ideas about how I'd like my kitchen/bathroom/bedroom to look but I can't put them on paper. Can you help me?
Yes, we design rooms and furniture ourselves or get your ideas down on paper so that the firms working on your project can put them into practice.

I've been looking for a rare item of vintage furniture for ages. Can you help me find it!
We can help you locate any item of furniture-vintage, antique or reproduction. We have access to many specialised databases and have contacts with dealers worldwide. We can also research unusual or rare materials and products such as wallpapers, textiles, carpets or accessories.
